During the last twenty years, Mr. Bartholomew has acted as Managing Partner of CyberNorth Ventures Capital, as a Venture Capital investor in technology based start ups. Additionally, Mr. Bartholomew is the founding Advisor to the Masters In Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology program at the Conrad Centre, Department of Engineering, University of Waterloo, which is now in its 11th year.
Mr. Bartholomew helped form this program to assist entrepreneurs in the commercialization of technology ideas and opportunities. In addition to this advisory role in the MBET program, Mr. Bartholomew is also a Founding Advisor of the University of Waterloo’s Stratford Campus School of Global Business and Digital Arts. Mr. Bartholomew takes an active role in mentoring technology-based start-ups in the Waterloo area.
Mr. Bartholomew specializes in building innovative technology companies, both in the private and public sector. With an extensive technology background, Mr. Bartholomew has built new technology services businesses created to change industries by bringing new efficiencies and redefining competitive barriers to entry. Over his career Mr. Bartholomew has created over $1.5 billion in market capitalization from concept to exit, raised over $500M of equity investment, acquired over 15 companies and managed assets exceeding $3 Billion.
Mr. Bartholomew’s past successes as a founder or investor, CEO and/or Chairman include: SponsorsOne Inc., PinPoint Environmental Inc., TruState Inc., uToogle Inc., xRM Global Inc. (TSXV:XRM), Cervus Financial Group (TSX:CFG), Basis100 (TSX:BAS), iGate Technologies, Design Recovery, Read Attachments Inc. and Buhl Automatic Inc.
